@flyosity It was such a joy and delight to use The stacking and how fluid it was 🤌
Оригінал@flyosity hell yeah, still nothing came close to Tweetbot though
Оригінал@flyosity sadly, most people know it to be true: https://x.com/joshpuckett/status/2090082022186512881
Оригінал@flyosity Screenshots don't do it justice tbh. You have to see the panels bounce around with the shadows, noisy backgrounds and embossed glossy buttons. I distinctly remember tweetie as being the first app that really offered something different on iPad and was truly a joy to use.
Оригінал@bilqisium the way you could pinch outward on the surface of a single tweet row to see user details and replies was incredible
Оригінал@flyosity they killed Tweetie for this. I still miss it to this day.
Оригінал@flyosity @luciascarlet yes , we need this back
Оригінал@flyosity The delicious generation
Оригінал@flyosity retvrn
Оригінал@flyosity An iPad app that seems excited you own an iPad. We've somehow made that a nostalgic concept.
Оригінал@flyosity Still remember the first time I pulled to refresh 👌
Оригінал@flyosity That was a fabulous UI. I miss that idiom so much.
Оригінал@flyosity @luciascarlet iOS hunks*
Оригінал@flyosity I’m usually not one for nostalgia but man this post got me
Оригінал@flyosity Before the SaaSification of software
Оригінал@flyosity Dude just bring it back, you have AI what are you waiting for. Beautiful tablet mode by the way, very refreshing UI
Оригінал@flyosity @luciascarlet I mean you only had to support a single screen size, single mode of interaction, etc. Also aesthetically that screenshot does look good, but it wouldn't surprise me if a good chunk of users found the information hierarchy confusing. Actions such as liking etc were hidden
Оригінал@flyosity Loren Brichter FTW. This sliding panel pattern should've caught on for iPad apps.
Оригінал@flyosity You’re cheating with the brichter example. Nothing else was that good back then! lol
Оригінал@flyosity Twitter for iPad now lol what a fucking joke
Оригінал@flyosity tweetbot shaped my relationship with apps
Оригінал@flyosity @saraaa7447 This is way more beautiful of a UI than the one letter slop we have nowadays :3
Оригінал@flyosity It's been hitting me a lot lately. Everything is so cluttered without any actual organization, everything is overdesigned but still so deeply fucking ugly. It's UGLY! It all looks like complete shit. And it all feels like absolute shit to use! I feel like I'm taking crazy pills.
Оригінал@flyosity X app sucks as usual. Has a bug on my iPad Pro with attached magic keyboard. The trackpad scrolling up/down requires me to swipe left to right on the trackpad lol.
Оригінал@flyosity Tha bokeh background was the style back then! I write a Photoshop tutorial on that :)
Оригінал@flyosity the modern UI/UX designer strongly believes that they have to keep absurd levels of similarity accross different devices, otherwise stupid users would be too scared of something midly different and will avoid using it can't have anything good now, only "web but sligthly tweaked"
Оригінал@flyosity i mean the app on ipad is amazing till 2015 when they fucked it up
Оригінал@flyosity i ported it for bluesky :) https://panes.ezhik.jp/
Оригінал@flyosity Still couldn’t hold a candle to Tweetbot and Twitterific. Losing the third party iOS apps still hurts.
Оригінал@flyosity My iOS App MinuteTaker has used this paradigm since 2012. I built the stack controller myself back then without AI 🙃
Оригінал@flyosity I mean it looked a bit crowded but it's actually better than Twitter From today
