Walter Koenig has passed away. Everyone got to show their comedy chops in Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home, and Chekov asking for directions to the "Nuclear Wessels" and the interrogation scene are real highlights. Koenig often cited The Voyage Home as his favourite Trek film.

    @TheStingisBack I like, in Wrath of Kahn, when he said, "They put qweetures in our ears." God bless.

    @TheStingisBack As a teen I met Walter Koenig at a Star Trek convention. He signed a photo for me. He couldn't have been more genuinely kind and friendly.

    @TheStingisBack My favorite scene is when he calls Kirk to say he’s found the “Nuclear Wessels” and then pauses and says “….and Captain, it’s the Enterprise.” and you see it’s the USS ENTERPRISE aircraft carrier

    @TheStingisBack Beats Wrath of Khan where he got a Ceti Alphan life form inserted into his ear.

    @TheStingisBack This is especially funny for those of us born and raised in the SF Bay Area !

    @TheStingisBack The writers always figured out a nice scene for Chekov. While Sulu was left on the ship or stunned in a closet. Walter made himself indispensable.

    @TheStingisBack My favourite too. Spock as a hippy was the cherry on the cake.

    @TheStingisBack The lady who responds to Chekov wasn’t even a actress she wasn’t supposed to say anything. Her name was Layla Sarakalo . Ironically yesterday would have been her birthday she passed away of February of last year.

    @TheStingisBack @iOTWclaudia Will Captain Kirk be the last original member standing. RIP Walter Koenig. He shined in the voyage home.

    @TheStingisBack This scene was improvised making it even more special. The woman that stopped to speak with them was not intentional but a passerby. Leonard Nimoy was the director - and loved the interaction. His staff caught up with the young woman to have her sign to be in the movie. Magic.

    @TheStingisBack This one is commonly criticised but I actually enjoyed it. I like the clash of cultures references.

    @TheStingisBack Just recently rewatched that scared me as a kid with Walter Koenig and Bruce Campbell as the leads: Moontrap. "That" scene will forever be scared into my brain. He was a great as Bester in Babylon 5 and of course Pavel Chekov, rank...Admiral! Second star to the right, Walter! RIP

    @TheStingisBack Star Trek IV was Nimoy implementing the lessons he learned on Mission: Impossible-- break the team into smaller units so the whole cast gets fun things to do and "everyone gets their page."

    @TheStingisBack 昔の素敵だったサンフランシスコが舞台でした。 今では行きたくない街に成り下がった。
