[Statement] Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon acquitted in second trial, opening a detour for political corruption Today, the Seoul High Court acquitted Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon, who was fined 10 million won in the first trial on charges of having his opinion poll costs paid by others. We express regret that the guilty verdict of the first trial for violating the Political Funds Act was overturned. The court ruled that the credibility of Myung Tae-kyun's statement was lacking and that Mayor Oh Se-hoon's request for an opinion poll and payment coverage was not sufficiently proven. However, doubts about the reality of the money exchanged between politicians, opinion poll companies, and sponsors still remain. Faced with suspicions that political funds passed through a third party, this ruling is no different from opening a detour for political corruption. The ruling is not yet final. If an appeal is filed, the Supreme Court's final judgment must be sought. Today's second-trial ruling cannot erase the suspicions and political responsibility raised so far. The Justice Party will watch the final judicial judgment on this case until the end. The political world can influence elections through money and opinion polls
