[St. Lite Kinen Review] It was a race held on slightly heavy ground under cloudy skies. Overall, it was a race where front-runners held on well. Justin Chicago, the winner, got a good start, saved his energy carefully on the inside, and took the victory. His last race was a front-running win in a small field, and with no prior track record at Nakayama, I honestly felt this would be too tough for him, but when all was said and done, it was an easy victory. Naturally, the Kikuka Sho will be next, but given his pedigree, he looks capable of handling the distance, making him a horse to watch out for. Jockey Hara, who secured his first graded stakes win in this year's Flower Cup, then won the NZT with Reservation. And with this St. Lite Kinen victory, he claimed his 3rd graded win of the year, making his major breakout. Seeing him throw a guts pose before the finish line and making flamboyant gestures even after crossing it shows he's the type of jockey whose fighting spirit really comes forward. With a strong mentality, he's a rider you can look forward to even on big stages, and I'm excited to see more from him in the future.
