@awstar11 I met at a few cons in the 90s. He was grateful for the doors chekov open but he loved playing bester. He would sell out the photos from star trek but I also asked for a babylon 5 one.

Fun fact. Koenig wasn’t originally included in the “Star Trek : The Animated Series” franchise. Also excluded were Nichelle Nichols (Uhura) George Takei Sulu). Leonard Nimoy threw a fit over this. The studio brought on Nickols and Takei but not Koenig. To placate Nimoy and Koenig, they hired Koenig as a writer. He became the first cast member to write an episode - The Infinite Vulcan - in 1973.

@awstar11 He was kind of the hip-youngster with long hair. Plus, he was Russian, and this was at the height of the Cold War. Very bold casting by Gene Roddenberry. RIP.
